Recently, Blizzard released the new video “Developer Adventure” for “Diablo 4”, which shows the scene of the Diablo 4 chief designer Zaven Haroutunian fighting in the “Kor Dragan Barracks” dungeon.
Haroutunian said that when creating Diablo 4, the development team wanted to make sure it looked like a true Diablo. One way to do this is to build a dungeon based on familiar locations in Diablo 1.
Haroutunian said, “One of the earliest dungeons we built was actually a dungeon based on Diablo 1. We thought, ‘Okay, how do we make sure it looks like Diablo?’ So we started playing Diablo 1, played in a dungeon for half a day, and then took a screenshot as a reference, and built this dungeon using the Diablo 4 engine.”https://www.slw-ele.com/
Of course, they also seek inspiration from the second and third generations. For example, the “Kor Dragan Barracks” dungeon was partially inspired by the ruins of Sescheron in Diablo 3. “We loved it when we made the ruins. So in Diablo 4, we wanted to do this again. Diablo 3 fans will surely remember that there are many deadly traps in this place, such as spiked floors and bladed pendulums.”
“Diablo 4” has launched a preemptive experience test on March 18 and a public beta test on March 25. Players can experience the complete plot and game content of the prologue and chapter 1 of “Diablo 4”, and can freely explore the first area, “Broken Peak Ridge”, climb mountains and cross mountains, and kill demons as much as possible. This work will be released on June 6th and will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, XboxOne, and XSX | S.
