A fairyland on earth, a garden of gods — Kanas, Xinjiang

Posted by

Recently, it has snowed in many places in Xinjiang. Kanas, known as “the back garden of God”, and Hemu Village, known as “the first village in the world”, have ushered in a dreamlike season like a fairy tale fairyland.
Kanas Natural Landscape Reserve is located on the southern slope of Mount Taishan in the northernmost part of Xinjiang, within the boundaries of Burqin and Habahe counties. It is a golden zone bordering Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia and China. It is a national geological park, national forest park, China nature reserve and national natural heritage.
The scenic spot is composed of mountains, rivers, forests, lakes, grasslands and other strange natural landscapes, Genghis Khan’s Western Expedition military station, ancient rock paintings and other historical and cultural relics and the unique folk customs of the Mongolian Tuva people. The snowy peaks of Kanas Lake stand against the green slope and ink forest, and the lake and mountains are beautiful. It is known as “the fairyland of the world and the garden of the gods”.
About 70 kilometers away from Kanas Lake, there is a beautiful mountain village in northern Xinjiang, surrounded by mountains and luxuriant birch trees. This is Hemu Township, known as “photographer paradise”. The villages of Hemu Township are scattered with wooden houses made of logs, full of primitive flavor, half hidden and half exposed in the birch forest.
Hemu in winter is a beautiful ink painting with natural achievements. Snow drifts lazily towards the mountains, clouds hang on the mountainside, smoke curls up from the wooden house, white birch forest in silver, sunlight sprinkles on the primitive ancient villages, mountains, snow, forest, torrents, villages, pastoral roads, and together outline a beautiful long scroll of water and ink in Hemu Village.
Xinjiang is a place favored by heaven. The vast land has unique landforms and magnificent natural landscapes, such as flower sea, streams, lakes, deserts, grasslands, forests, snow mountains and unique Yadan landforms. You love the scenery here!
Urho Devil City can be regarded as the extreme of Yadan landform, which means “steep mound” in Uyghur language. Yadan landform is considered as one of the wonders of the world. The Devil’s City is windy all the year round. When the strong wind comes, the yellow sand covers the sky. The strong wind swings around and howls like ghosts crying and wolves howling, which is creepy. Therefore, the “Devil’s City” is named.
In the Cretaceous period about 100 million years ago, it was a huge freshwater lake, with lush plants growing on the lake shore, and the water was inhabited by Urho Stegosaurus, plesiosaurus, dinosaurs, Junggar pterosaurs and other ancient animals. With hundreds of millions of years of historical changes, various forms of wind erosion rock groups have formed in the Devil’s City. Their shapes, such as halls, platforms, pavilions, castles, or people, birds, and animals, are magnificent and mysterious, and become one of the wonders of the world.
Kashgar, in the minds of many people, is the most “exotic” place in China, bordering the Taklimakan Desert in the east, Tajikistan in the west, and Afghanistan and Pakistan in the southwest. There are rich exotic customs, ancient and simple streets and alleys, and the most authentic old city life.
Kashgar Old City Scenic Spot is the capital of ancient Shule, one of the thirty-six countries in the Western Regions more than two thousand years ago. It has left a lot of thick historical and cultural relics. The streets are crisscross and the buildings are scattered. It is the only well-preserved labyrinth urban block in China. A tourist attraction integrating Uygur history, culture, architecture, and folk customs is the most worthy old city in Xinjiang.
Located in Bozhou, Xinjiang, Sailimu Lake is a alpine lake formed by melting water from snowy mountains, and the last place where warm and humid air flows from the Atlantic Ocean in Xinjiang. It is said that “the last drop of tears from the Atlantic Ocean”.
The water of Salimu Lake is clear and blue. On one side of the lake is the endless Tianshan Mountains, and on the other side is the vast alpine grassland. It is the highest altitude, largest area and beautiful alpine lake in Xinjiang. The lake is reflected against the blue sky and the reflection of snow mountains.
I will go to Xinjiang once in my life, see the miracle of the collision between mountains and rivers, see the different customs of ethnic minorities, and feel the magic and beauty of nature’s creations
