From the jade tiger head in the Neolithic Age more than 3700 years ago to the tiger shaped porcelain pillow in the Song and Jin Dynasties more than 1000 years ago, to the cloth tiger and tiger head cap in modern times, on January 25, the year of the Renyin Tiger in the lunar calendar is approaching, The three exhibitions of the Shanxi Archaeological Museum, namely “The tiger is alive and powerful – the tiger cultural relics in the Shanxi Archaeological Museum”, “The tiger model tiger pattern – the tiger pattern pottery model at the Houma copper casting site”, “The golden tiger is blessed – the folk embroidery and innovative design exhibition of the Shanxi tiger culture”, were opened to the public on the same day.
In the “auspicious tiger painting” area of the exhibition hall, Gao Lv Zhiyu and several small partners are using paintbrush to create their own image of “tiger”. She said that among the three exhibitions, the biggest attraction for her was the giant “cloth tiger wall”. The staff said that the 300 cloth tigers of different shapes that make up the wall were all made by local craftsmen in Changzhi, Shanxi Province. They have full “Shanxi style” from decoration to color matching.
